First selling books from a horse drawn cart, Dojack's Winnipeg Musical Supply dates back to the dirt streets of the early twentieth century. Opened by Czech immigrant Franz Dojacek, the neon blue bass-note on Main Street became a fixture for Eastern Europeans, supplying instruments, sheet music and publishing deals to some of Western Canada's most famous musicians.

Dojack's music was silenced when the store closed in 1982. Luckily the neon note has played on, sputtering in blue as a reminder of how Dojack's gave Winnipeg the music.
